I’m Nihar, and Third Opinions is my independent project to improve outcomes in medicine and public health.

Medicine and public health are full of high-quality studies (population-level evidence, decades of practice, etc). But the established recommendations and public policies are often far behind — and sometimes even at odds — with the results of those studies. This project is thus my ability to re-examine the underlying studies, and argue for different conclusions.

This of course is not official or personalized medical advice, as I am not a physician and do not have a physician-patient relationship with you the reader. Please do not mistake it as such. I'm an economist by training (see my full LinkedIn), and so my comparative advantage is instead reading studies and writing reviews of them.
